WUMC will join more than 700 stations in nearly 60 countries to celebrate the power of college radio.


This year’s theme focuses on democracy. Through special programs on World College Radio Day, WUMC and students at stations around the world will explore the meaning and importance of democracy.

    Jopsahany Lucas Pino will be discussing the meanings of democracy, republicanism, libertarianism, and conservatism. She will explore how music is used to influence people to vote for a certain party and the impact it has on freedom of expression and the right to protest. We will also explore different protest songs from various countries and examine quotes from musicians expressing their feelings about politics.

    Conversations with Milligan University students, faculty, and staff regarding their perspectives and daily life experiences with democracy.

    In this one-hour presentation simulcast on 700+ World College Radio Day member stations, students from around the world explore the importance and meaning of democracy.

    Tony Bailey and Foster Bloch take a deep dive into one of American History’s greatest tragedies: Who killed John F. Kennedy? Join the duo as they discuss the evidence and current theories that may explain the death of the 35th president and what his death meant to the nation.
